    Mail or drop off your worn American flag at our designated location. We ensure it is retired in accordance with U.S. Flag Code guidelines.

  2. We Handle the Respectful Retirement
    Partnering with veteran organizations and local scout troops, we conduct official flag retirement ceremonies with the dignity your flag deserves.

  3. Receive a Special Discount on a New Flag
    When you retire a flag with us, you’ll receive an exclusive discount to purchase a brand-new, high-quality American flag from Flag Lady USA.

Major Moments in Our History

"God & Country"

1977 - Mary Haley Leavitt given a vision of "God & Country" on her farm in Mt. Vernon, Ohio

Selling Door-to-Door

1979 - 1988 Mary sold the American flag going door-to-door. First on her lunch break as a legal secretary, then expanding to a home business in the mid-to-late 1980s.

Expansion

1989 the business took up too much of the home and so Mary opened up her first store in 1989 in the Clintonville area of Columbus, Ohio. It moved in the early 1990s to its current location (archived photos of storefront shown)

Lori joins the Business

1993 - Current owner, Lori Leavitt Watson, joins the family business to expand the manufacturing division of the company.

God's Blessing Poured Out

By the early 2000s, The Flag Lady became one of the largest flag companies in the country.

The Legacy Continues

In 2017, 40 years after God gave her the original vision for the Flag Lady, Mary retired and sold the business to the second generation Flag Lady, Lori Leavitt Watson.

Since 2017, Lori has taken the solid foundations that the business was built up: high quality products, excellent customer service, and timely deliveries, and updated the company with fresh branding and messaging to prepare it for further expansion in manufacturing and sales capabilities to serve both our residential and corporate customers even better than before.
