December 17, 1903: The Wright Brothers achieved the first powered & sustained flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
December 19, 1972: The last manned mission of the Apollo program, Apollo 17, returned to Earth, marking the end of manned missions to the moon for the foreseeable future.
December 21, 1937: The first full-length animated feature film, Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," premiered in Los Angeles.
