History of the Francis Hopkinson Flags
According the the North American Vexilogical Association, there are two proposed designs for this flag. Both feature a blue canon with 13 six-pointed stars, one has white stripes on the outside, the other has the traditional red stripes on the outside. Read more about their findings here.
